“Old enamel” bathtub made of paper, 1:12 scale / "Oud emaille" bad gemaakt van papier schaal 1:12

I was looking for an old enamel clawfoot bathtub for my dollhouse,

but I couldn’t find one anywhere

There are small white porcelain tubs with gold and

decorative details available,

but that wasn’t what I had in mind

I want to create my dollhouse in the style of around 1900,

and I enjoy making it as close to reality as possible

I keep searching until I find exactly what I envision,

since this is a project that will take years

That’s why I was so happy when I found a kit online

that included instructions on how to make 

my own enamel bathtub

Ik was op zoek naar een oud emaille ligbad op pootjes

 

voor mijn poppenhuis maar kon die nergens vinden

Er zijn wel ligbadjes van wit porselein met goud en opsmuk

 

te koop maar dat was niet wat ik in mijn hoofd had

Ik wil mijn poppenhuis in de stijl van rond 1900 maken 

 

en ik vind het leuk als het de werkelijkheid zoveel

 

mogelijk benaderd

Ik zoek gewoon net zolang tot ik vind wat ik in mijn hoofd

 

heb want het is toch een jarenlang project

Daarom was ik ook blij dat ik op internet een pakketje

 

te koop zag met de beschrijving erbij hoe ik zelf

 

een emaille bad kon maken

It became an old, slightly battered bathtub with a copper 

shower above, and it turned out exactly the way I wanted

The bottom is made of cardboard, the tub is made of paper,

and the feet are pushpins for a corkboard

I painted the pushpins, cut off the metal,

and glued them under the tub to serve as feet

Het is een oud geblutst bad geworden met een koperen

added some black paint along the edges

to make it look as if it’s chipped and worn

The shower is made from a scoubidou cord with a 

wire inside, and a earring with the clip removed

I then painted the whole piece with copper-colored 

enamel paint and glued it to the wall

Daarna het geheel met koperkleurige emaille verf

 

geschilderd en op de muur gelijmd
