A beautiful 18th-century dollhouse in a display cabinet
The cabinet itself was also beautifully painted
with flowers and Chinese motifs
The dollhouse is said to have been furnished by Maria de Vogel van Aalst
(1789–1866).
There is linen with embroidered monograms,
confirming the family’s provenance

Five rooms were created within the display cabinet:
Cellar
Here stands a wooden push sled and earthenware pots
Kitchen
The walls are covered with kitchen utensils, and
many miniatures are also placed on the floor
Two ladies are present in the kitchen by the fireplace
In the wall cabinet, an English dinner service is on display
Parlor
Walls with wainscoting
Fireplace with a marble mantel
A corner buffet and many miniature silver items
Nursery
Beautifully decorated walls
A large canopy bed with silk curtains and
wo cradles woven from willow rods
Attic
Marked linens hang in the attic to dry on clothes poles
There is also an ironing board, mangle, linen press, and laundry baskets
A blackboard is used to record all the laundry sent to the laundrette
Most of the miniature silver items in the dollhouse
date from the early 18th century
A few objects and dolls were added in the 19th century,
but the late 18th-century atmosphere has been preserved
The proportions aren’t all accurate, but I found
this to be a beautiful dollhouse to look at
Unfortunately, most of the photos didn’t turn
out well because it was difficult to photograph through the glass
J'adore ces anciennes collections ,c'est réellement magnifique!
