I won third prize in a miniatures competition
on the Active Dollhouse Forum on Facebook
The assignment was to create a 15 x 15 cm scene that
included a chair and the theme “holidays.”
My entry was titled “The Morning After Christmas Eve.”
I had already made tarot cards for the fortune teller,
but then I found more beautiful ones on www.MariaMinis.com
that could be downloaded for free
I’m very happy with this beautiful set of tarot cards
I had previously restored an old pencil sharpener and
turned it into a gramophone for the dollhouse
Now I’ve made a record case to go with it🎶
I made a little box and some tiny mushrooms as decorations
for the Christmas tree in the dollhouse 🎄🍄

Print one of the images below
If you print it on photo paper, you won’t need to varnish it afterward
Glue it onto thin cardboard, cut it out, and glue the edges of the sleeve
lightly so that the record can still fit inside
Then cut out the record and run the edges along a black ink pad for a realistic finish

Made a 1:12 scale tray from three wooden coffee stirrers
It’s amazing how you can create such a cute miniature with so little material!
Lantern made from cardboard, matchsticks, a bead, wire, paint, and glue
The candles were made by cutting small pieces of a straw,
painting them, filling them with glue, inserting a thread as a wick, and blackening the tip
The holly branch I had already made earlier
I made an insect hotel from cardboard and herbs,
which I’m going to attach to the fortune teller’s gypsy wagon
For the fortune teller’s gypsy wagon, I made a shoebox and filled it with photos
I also made a Victorian photo box filled with old photographs
Fun to create something nice with just a few simple materials
Beads glued together and painted gold
Angels glued on, candles added and you’ve got
Christmas candle holders for your dollhouse
I enjoy incorporating elements from my own life into my dollhouse
In the hobby room of my miniature house, there’s even a
tiny dollhouse inside a cabinet — just like in real life
And just like the big dollhouse, it’s not finished yet
At a fair, I came across this grandfather with his grandson and
decided to buy them for my 1:12 scale dollhouse

My grandson loves my big dollhouse, and now he’s also part
of the small dollhouse, together with grandpa
Miniature Ice Skates “Friese Doorlopers” Made in 1:12 Scale
In the top photo, they’re displayed on my own vintage Friese doorlopers
These are typical traditional Dutch skates, instantly recognizable by their elegant,
elongated blades — a nostalgic touch of Dutch winter charm in miniature form
The skates were part of the Christmas stall workshop
by Sylvia de Groot, but I made them at home
I spent hours filing and sanding to get the right shape,
but I’m happy with the result
Around 1875, the Friese doorloper (Frisian runner skate) was
developed from the wooden skates that were common at the time
By 1900, the Friese doorloper had become increasingly popular
A Friese doorloper is a type of wooden skate with a single blade,
which is tied underneath the shoe
Although all wooden skates are often called Friese doorlopers,
the true Friese doorloper is the one where the blade runs all the way to the heel
My mother liked the Victorian photo box I made recently so
much that I decided to make one for her and her sister as well
A little photo box filled with pictures of their parents, grandmother,
and brothers and sisters
I’m curious to see their reaction when I give it to them
