I’ve finished the ceiling for the witch’s house bedroom

It’s a big contrast with the ground floor—but I’ll explain that later

Het is een groot contrast met de benedenverdieping maar dat leg ik later wel uit 

I cut a piece of thick cardboard to size

Ik heb van dik karton een plaat op maat gesneden

Marked and cut strips of 1 cm wide

 Stroken van 1cm afgetekend en gesneden

Glued 4 sets of 3 strips together to make the beams for the wall and the two ceilings

4 x 3 Stroken op elkaar gelijmd voor de balken aan de muur en de 2 plafonds

And glued 10 sets of 2 strips together for the crossbeams for the

 two ceilings, then sanded them

En 10 x 2 stroken gelijmd voor de tussen balken voor 2 plafonds en geschuurd

Glued the beams in place and coated the ceiling with gesso

Balken gelijmd en plafond met Gesso behandeld

Then I painted the ceiling pink and the little stars gold

Daarna het plafond roze en de sterretjes goud geschilderd

I wasn’t happy with the color of the moon

Ribbelkarton in stukjes van 2 cm geknipt en daar golfjes in gemaakt

Painted the top gray and the underside black

Glued moss onto the little roof

Bovenkant grijs geschilderd en onderkant zwart

Mos op het afdakje gelijmd

Glued a bat to the tip, then attached the little roof to the front wall 

and finished it off with signs and ivy

Vleermuis in de punt gelijmd en het afdakje op de

voorgevel gelijmd en afgewerkt met bordjes en klimop

Made a large spiderweb on the front wall of the witch’s house, scale 1:12 / Groot spinnenweb gemaakt op de voorgevel van het heksenhuis schaal 1:12

I drew and cut out a large spiderweb, painted it silver, 

and glued it onto the front wall of the witch’s house

Now the big spider 🕷 has a proper 🕸!

I got some ideas from Pinterest and combined them with my own imagination

Made a template for the windows

I made the door in the shape of a coffin

Downloaded and printed a web with spiders, then resized it to fit the windows

Made a funny moon to go in the peak of the house

I made a quirky cabinet for the witch’s house out of an empty tissue box

Ik heb van een lege tissuedoos een gekke kast gemaakt voor het heksenhuis

Removed the top and cut it down to a height of 18 cm

Bovenkant verwijderd en op 18 cm hoogte afgeknipt

Then I trimmed the sides down by 3 cm

Daarna de zijkanten op 3 cm afgeknipt

Made shelves from the cut-off cardboard and glued them inside the box

Van het afgeknipte karton planken gemaakt en in de doos gelijmd

Then I painted the entire cabinet black, including the back, to prevent warping

I glued all the books and other items firmly in place inside the cabinet

Daarna de kast in zijn geheel zwart geschilderd

Ook aan de achterkant om krom trekken te voorkomen

Alles boekjes enz. vast gelijmd in de kast

Finished the edges with gray paint to make the shape of the shelves stand out better, 

and glued some ivy onto the cabinet

De randjes afgewerkt met grijze verf zodat je beter het model van de 

 

planken ziet en nog wat klimop op de kast gelijmd

Pruned the garden and used a few suitable branches to make 

a ladder for the witch’s house

Cut the twigs to size and attached them with wood glue

De tuin gesnoeid en van een paar geschikte takken een ladder voor het heksenhuis gemaakt

Takjes op maat geknipt en met houtlijm bevestigd

Party hat, scale 1:12, for the witch’s cat / Feesthoed schaal 1:12 voor de kat van het heks

The witch’s cat loves parties, so I made a party hat for him

I still had a small black hat that was too tiny for my dolls

De kat van de heks is dol op feestjes dus heb ik 

 

een feesthoed voor hem gemaakt

Ik had nog een klein zwart hoedje dat te klein was voor mijn poppetjes

I painted it gold and decorated it with stars

Making miniature books, scale 1:12, the quick way / Miniatuur boekjes schaal 1:12 maken op een snelle manier

Made books for the witch’s house using a quick method

Cut a strip from a magazine or catalog

Boeken voor het heksenhuis gemaakt op een snelle manier

Snijd een reep van een tijdschrift of magazine af

Coat one side with glue and let it dry thoroughly

Smeer 1 zijkant in met lijm en laat dit goed drogen

I printed my book covers 2 cm wide and cut a 2 cm strip 

from the magazine accordingly

Ik heb mijn boekomslagen op 2 cm breed uitgeprint en

 

dus een reep van 2 cm van het tijdschrift afgesneden

Then cut it to the correct length

Dan op de juiste lengte afgesneden

Glued the book cover on and finished the 

little book with Ecoline ink for an aged look

Boekomslag erop gelijmd en het boekje afgewerkt

 

met ecoline voor het oude uiterlijk
