I made wall shelves featuring Mary Poppins and a little bear
They stand under a “glass dome” made from a capsule
On this blog, you’ll find everything about dollhouses and miniatures. Op dit blog vind je alles over poppenhuizen en miniaturen.
I made wall shelves featuring Mary Poppins and a little bear
They stand under a “glass dome” made from a capsule
I found a beautiful anatomy torso for the doctor’s
office I still want to make someday
I don’t know about you, but I have a whole list
of mini projects I still want to create
I collect miniatures and ideas in advance, and that’s how
a project slowly takes shape
I covered the walls of the shop with little bricks
I downloaded the bricks and resized them to fit
Made an “enamel” street name sign, glued it onto cardboard, added brown edges
to make it look rusty, and finished it with a coat of varnish
My grandparents’ shop opened in 1929, so I looked up
old advertisements and pasted them on the wall
I had to paint the roof, the back wall, and the inside of the shop
five times before it finally looked right
I made a stock of little boxes for my shop
If you’d like to make them too, the printables are below
Just like in my grandparents’ shop, the toys are on the left and
the household items are on the right in the shop window
I found the emblem online in an old advertisement, resized it
and glued it to the back wall of the shop window
I’ve now glued all the “glass” into my little shop and
painted the sidewalk with texture paint
On the internet, I found an enamel house number 3 from the 1930s and downloaded it
I resized it, glued it onto cardboard, and finished the edges with a black marker
My grandparents used to have a shop that sold household goods and toys
Unfortunately, this is the only photo I have of the shop
I thought it would be fun to recreate that shop, so I searched online
to see if I could find any information
The shop opened in 1929, but the first advertisement I was able to find is from 1937
Most kits were very shallow, but I found a little shop at WAM
with two display windows and the door in the middle just like my grandparents’ shop
The front can easily be removed, and there’s an acrylic panel in
the roof so you also get light from above
The dimensions are 32 cm wide, 23 cm deep, and 23 cm high
I chose to stain the woodwork instead of painting it,
because that’s how it was in their shop too
Monique Jakobs made wooden letters for me exactly as I wanted
I painted them gold and placed them loosely on the
shop front to see how they would look
These cute 1960s tables are a kit from Iriginals
They’ll eventually go in the 1960s room I’m planning to make
Smoking indoors was perfectly normal back then
I made a veranda from a kit by Iriginals
There’s plexiglass in the frame
I made the “planks” on the back wall out of cardboard
I downloaded the Moroccan tiles, resized them,
and glued them onto cardboard
The little cushion was made by Akke Ris
I made the roses and plants out of rice paper
The butterfly was made by my daughter
I wickered the gathering basket myself
