The interior of my little shop, “Nieuwe Bazar,” 

with household goods and toys, is finished

Het interieur van mijn winkeltje "Nieuwe Bazar" 

 

met huishoudelijke artikelen en speelgoed is klaar

I made shelves out of cardboard and glued them onto a back wall that 

I had covered with wallpaper

It seemed easier to glue it into the shop as one whole piece

On the shelves are, among other things, a miniature shop and hand-painted toy soldiers

Ik heb planken van karton gemaakt, op de achterwand

 

gelijmd die was voorzien van behang

Het leek me makkelijker om dit in zijn geheel in het winkeltje te kunnen lijmen

Op de planken staan o.a. een miniatuur winkeltje en

 

met de hand beschilderde soldaatjes

Someone is already gazing eagerly into the shop window

Er wordt al vol verlangen in de etalage gestaard

I still need to add glass to the roof, finish the roof itself, 

and make a pavement around the shop

So the grand opening will have to wait a little longer

Ik moet nog glas in het dak maken, het dak afwerken

 

en nog een stoep om de winkel heen maken

De opening laat dus nog even op zich wachten

Laundry detergent made in 1:12 scale / Waspoeder gemaakt schaal 1:12

I made a shelf out of 2 mm thick cardboard and filled it 

with boxes of laundry detergent and starch

Van karton (2mm dik) heb ik een plank gemaakt en 

gevuld met doosjes waspoeder en stijfsel

I made the boxes from printables and glued them onto the shelves

De doosjes heb ik van printables gemaakt en vast gelijmd op de planken

Now I just need to make the shelves for the toys

Nu alleen nog planken voor het speelgoed maken

I picked up my fairy tale book *“The Secret of Witch Wigglebottom”* from the printing house / Mijn sprookjesboek "Het geheim van heks Wiebelkontje" bij de drukkerij opgehaald

This morning, I was able to pick up my fairy tale book “The Secret of Witch Wigglebottom” from the printing house. The story is about a witch who actually wants to be a ballet dancer, and my grandsons play the leading roles. I had ten copies printed at my own expense.

A long-cherished dream has now come true, thanks to all the time spent at home during COVID-19 — something positive came out of it after all.

I started nine months ago. The story was already written, and based on it, I created all the miniatures. I made the witch’s house entirely out of cardboard. Once it was finished, I took nearly 1,000 photos for the book before I was finally satisfied.

Ik heb vanmorgen mijn sprookjesboek "Het geheim van heks Wiebelkontje" bij de drukkerij op kunnen halen. Het verhaal gaat over een heks die eigenlijk balletdanseres wil zijn en waar mijn kleinzoons de hoofdrol in spelen. Ik heb 10 boeken laten drukken op eigen kosten.

Een lang gekoesterde wens is nu in vervulling gegaan dankzij het vele thuis zitten door Covid 19. Levert het toch ook nog iets positiefs op.

9 Maanden geleden ben ik begonnen. Het verhaal had ik al klaar en aan de hand daarvan heb ik de miniaturen gemaakt. Het heksenhuis heb ik volledig van karton gemaakt. Eenmaal klaar heb ik bijna 1000 foto`s voor het boek gemaakt voordat ik tevreden was.
