🧸 "Antieke speelgoedwinkel" gemaakt in schaal 1:12

Young and old alike can enjoy a room full of dollhouse rooms
at the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem (the Netherlands)
Based on existing 17th- and 18th-century dollhouses,
a fabulous collage has been created featuring 71 rooms,
some of which are presented in 3D
It offers visitors the chance to discover up-close details that often remain hidden
The source of inspiration is the monumental dollhouse of
the Amsterdam merchant’s wife Sara Rothé,
one of the showpieces of the Frans Hals Museum

A small project I made
A living room inside a matchbox
Een klein project gemaakt schaal 1:144
Een woonkamer in een lucifersdoosje
Fun to make and perfect if you don’t have much time or space!
I made a 1:12 scale bedroom corner as a birthday present for a 14-year-old girl
She loves horses and is a fan of the boy band B-Brave,
though Kay is definitely her favorite —
so of course, these posters had to be included!
There are also photos of the girl herself, her family, and friends hanging,
standing, and lying around the room
However, I’ve blurred the faces here on the blog for privacy
It didn’t cost much to make
The bed and wall shelf are made from cardboard
The dresser is built from empty matchboxes with old beads as drawer knobs
All the packaging, the horse book, domino game, posters, tablet,
and photo box came from Pinterest
I’ve also saved many of these printables in my
“Dollhouse Printables” folder on Pinterest
The pencils are made from cocktail sticks, and the
English licorice and marshmallow sweets
(on the nightstand) are made from clay
The stool was crafted from the wire around a champagne cork
The teddy bear on the bed was made using needle felting
I treated a plain wooden cabinet with chalk paint, sanded it,
and then rubbed it with special wax to create an aged, vintage look
The cabinet will eventually go into the toy shop, which I still have to build
🧸 The cabinet for my 1:12 scale toy shop is finished!
It’s now filled with nostalgic toys, from dolls to teddy bears and fits
perfectly with the vintage atmosphere of the shop
It was a detailed project, but I’m very happy with the result
I’m especially proud of my collection of 16 tin soldiers, each one hand-painted
They give the toy cabinet an authentic, nostalgic look as if they
came straight out of an old toy museum!
