Third floor for the bedroom of the witch’s house, scale 1:12 / Derde vloer voor de slaapkamer van het heksenhuis schaal 1:12

Unfortunately, I had to remove the second floor in the bedroom again

Even though I had used a different kind of glue, 

the floor was full of air bubbles the next day

This time, I used real wooden slats that already had adhesive on them, 

and those are staying in place nicely

I placed the bed and a few of the items I made just for the photo, 

to get an idea of how it will look later

ook weer moeten verwijderen

Ondanks dat ik een andere lijm had gebruikt was de vloer

 

de volgende dag toch weer vol met luchtbubbels

Ik heb nu echte houten latjes gebruikt die al voorzien

 

waren van lijm en deze blijven wel goed zitten

Het bed en wat spulletjes die ik heb gemaakt even

 

voor de foto erbij gezet om een idee te krijgen

I made a bed for the witch’s house

It’s going to be a romantic bedroom because the witch has a secret… 

she actually wants to be a ballet dancer

I made the bed and the little stars out of cardboard

Ik heb een bed gemaakt voor het heksenhuis

Het wordt een romantische slaapkamer want de heks heeft

 

een geheim.. ze wil het liefst een balletdanseres zijn

Ik heb het bed en de sterretjes van karton gemaakt

I still had a foam envelope, so I glued two layers of it onto the cardboard

Ik had nog een schuimrubber envelop en heb daar 2 laagjes 

 

van op het karton geplakt

Then I tightly wrapped the fabric with golden stars 

around it and glued it to the back

Daarna de stof met gouden sterretjes er strak omheen getrokken en 

 

aan de achterkant vast gelijmd

I glued a gold-colored footboard to the back to give it a neat finish

From the same fabric, I made a duvet and glued golden stars onto the bed

Now I just need to make the pillows

Aan de achterkant een goudkleurig voeteneind gelijmd 

 

om het netjes af te werken

Van dezelfde stof heb ik een dekbed gemaakt en gouden 

 

sterretjes op het bed gelijmd

Nu moet ik alleen nog kussentjes maken

I made the ceiling for the witch’s house living room in the

 same way as the bedroom ceiling

However, this time I painted it gray instead of pink and glued bats on it instead of stars

dezelfde manier gemaakt als het plafond van de slaapkamer

Ik heb het plafond echter nu grijs geschilderd i.p.v. roze en er

 

vleermuizen op geplakt i.p.v. sterren

The other side is the bedroom floor

After the first gluing, the floor was full of air bubbles, so I had to remove it

After sanding, I added a new floor using different glue, and fortunately, 

it’s staying nice and flat now

De andere kant is de vloer van de slaapkamer

Na de eerste keer lijmen stond de vloer bol van de luchtbellen en

 

dat heb ik dus moeten verwijderen

Na het schuren nieuwe vloer aangebracht met andere lijm

 

en gelukkig blijft de vloer nu wel strak

I spent three days working on the floor for the ground floor of the witch’s house

I don’t think I’ll be making a floor out of egg cartons again anytime soon

I cut a sheet of thick cardboard and tore the egg cartons into small pieces

 ben ik 3 dagen bezig geweest

Ik denk niet dat ik nog snel een keer een vloer van eierdozen ga maken

Ik heb een plaat van dik karton gesneden en 

 

eierdozen aan stukjes gescheurd

Painted the floor black and glued the pieces of egg carton onto it

Painted it a solid gray the first time

De eerste keer egaal grijs geschilderd

Cut off a small piece of sponge

Een klein stukje van een spons afgeknipt

Using tweezers, I dipped the small piece of sponge into 

dark gray paint and dabbed it onto the stones

Met een pincet het stukje spons in donker grijze

 

verf gedoopt en hier de stenen mee gedipt

After that, I detailed the stones and finished the edges using 

a cocktail stick dipped in black paint

Daarna de stenen bewerkt en de randjes afgewerkt

 

met een cocktailprikker met zwarte verf

Finished it off with a few coats of varnish

It’s a big contrast with the ground floor—but I’ll explain that later

I cut a piece of thick cardboard to size

Ik heb van dik karton een plaat op maat gesneden

Marked and cut strips of 1 cm wide

 Stroken van 1cm afgetekend en gesneden

Glued 4 sets of 3 strips together to make the beams for the wall and the two ceilings

4 x 3 Stroken op elkaar gelijmd voor de balken aan de muur en de 2 plafonds

And glued 10 sets of 2 strips together for the crossbeams for the

 two ceilings, then sanded them

En 10 x 2 stroken gelijmd voor de tussen balken voor 2 plafonds en geschuurd

Glued the beams in place and coated the ceiling with gesso

Then I painted the ceiling pink and the little stars gold

I wasn’t happy with the color of the moon

De kleur van de maan was niet naar mijn zin

I painted it orange, and now it stands out much better

Ik heb hem oranje geschilderd en nu komt hij veel beter uit

The front wall is now finished

Next, I’m going to start working on the side walls

De voorgevel is nu klaar

Cut pieces of corrugated cardboard into 2 cm strips and shaped them into little waves

Painted the top gray and the underside black

Glued moss onto the little roof

Bovenkant grijs geschilderd en onderkant zwart

Mos op het afdakje gelijmd

Glued a bat to the tip, then attached the little roof to the front wall 

and finished it off with signs and ivy

Vleermuis in de punt gelijmd en het afdakje op de

voorgevel gelijmd en afgewerkt met bordjes en klimop
