Floor tiles for the dollhouse, painted black and white / Plavuizen voor het poppenhuis zwart en wit geschilderd

I wasn’t too happy with the color of the vinyl floor tiles 

for my dollhouse, the beige just seemed too dull

So, I decided to give them a makeover: 

I painted half the tiles white and the other half black with 

acrylic paint, then sealed them with a layer of varnish

Finally, I glued the tiles onto cardboard using 

Tacky Glue, and now they’re ready to add a striking 

black-and-white pattern to the dollhouse floor

Ik heb met acrylverf de helft van de tegels wit geschilderd 

 

en de andere helft zwart en daarna gelakt

De tegels heb ik met Tacky Glue op karton gelijmd

Next, I decided to grout the tiles, even though there

wasn’t much space between them

It was quite exciting, as I had 

never grouted anything before!

I picked up some grout at the hardware store, 

meant for full-size bathroom tiles,

and wondered if it might damage the vinyl tiles

Luckily, everything turned out perfectly, and the tiles 

came out beautifully grouted without any damage

Daarna heb ik ze gevoegd ook al zag je 

 

niet veel ruimte tussen de tegels

Ik vond het wel spannend om te doen 

 

want ik had nog nooit eerder gevoegd

Ik heb voegmiddel in de bouwmarkt 

 

gekocht voor 1 : 1 badkamertegels 

Vroeg me af of de vinyl tegels niet aangetast zouden

 

 worden door het voegmiddel maar gelukkig is dit niet gebeurd

After grouting, they cleaned up perfectly with a damp sponge

After some trimming and fitting, the floor was cut to size,

and it turned out just the way I wanted

Na het voegen waren ze prima schoon

 

te maken met een natte spons

Na wat snijden en passen was de vloer op maat 

 

en is hij helemaal naar mijn zin geworden
