The bookshelves, 1:12 scale, for the library are now filled / De boekenkasten schaal 1:12 voor de bibliotheek zijn gevuld

 

I bought plain wooden cabinets for the dollhouse library 

 

and stained them in an old pine color

I then spent many hours crafting more than 160 little books

before the shelves were finally filled

Ik heb blank houten kasten voor de bibliotheek van het

 

poppenhuis gekocht en ze gebeitst in de kleur oud grenen

Ik ben daarna heel wat uren aan het knutselen geweest 

 

voordat ik de ruim 160 boekjes had gemaakt

 

The shelves are now nicely filled with all kinds of books

 

De planken zijn nu goed gevuld met allerlei soorten boeken

The cabinet also holds a tiny Eiffel Tower, 

a keepsake from a wonderful weekend in Paris,

along with a delicate fishbowl, a little deer, 

and a copper tobacco jar

Together, these treasures give the dollhouse

library a personal and charming touch

Verder staat er ook nog een Eiffeltorentje in de kast 

 

als herinnering aan een mooi weekend in Parijs,  

 

een vissenkom, een hertje en een koperen tabakspot

The box of Cuban cigars in the cabinet brings 

back memories of several wonderful vacations

in that remarkable country,

De doos Cubaanse sigaren in de kast herinnert mij

 

aan een paar fantastische vakanties in dit bijzondere land
