I used to spend my days working and taking care
of my family, but once the kids had moved out,
I suddenly found myself with some free time.
I enjoy reading and listening to music,
but I needed something more to fill my days
That’s when I started searching for a
hobby I could do at home,
at my own pace, whenever I felt like it
and that’s how I discovered the wonderful world of dollhouses

naar een hobby die ik thuis
kan doen in mijn eigen tempo, op de momenten dat ik
daar zin in heb
I still had some special dollhouse furniture
from 1964 by Petite Princess tucked away in a cabinet,
and that’s how the idea for my dollhouse hobby came about

I had always thought it would be fun
to build or decorate a dollhouse,
so I typed “dollhouse” into Google
and a whole new world opened up for me
From that moment, I caught the “dollhouse bug,”
which, by the way, is the only virus you can actually enjoy!
Het leek me altijd al leuk om een poppenhuis te maken
of in te richten en daarom tikte ik op Google het
woord poppenhuis in en ging er een hele nieuwe
wereld voor me

Vanaf dat moment was ik besmet met het "poppenhuisvirus"
dat overigens het enige virus is waar je
plezier aan kunt beleven
I stumbled upon amazing websites featuring people
who create dollhouses and miniatures,
and I was completely awestruck by the incredible things they had crafted

en miniaturen maken en ik keek mijn ogen uit
toen ik zag
wat die mensen creëerden
I also came across the French dollhouse book
Le grand livre de la maison miniature by Christine Lea Frisoni,
and like me, many people have caught the
“dollhouse bug” after discovering it
Although it’s only available in French,
I never tire of flipping through its beautiful pages
By that point, I knew for sure that I wanted to create my own dollhouse,
and I eagerly began collecting miniatures to bring it to life

What started as a small hobby has now blossomed
into a full-blown dollhouse passion!
At the moment, I’m transforming a display cabinet
into a charming French-style dollhouse

my miniatures along the way
