Made the witch’s hat out of felt

The coat rack from a pipe cleaner and the broom from a twig and some string

 

Van vilt een hoed voor de heks gemaakt

Made a cabinet for the witch’s house, scale 1:12, out of a tissue box / Kast voor het heksenhuis schaal 1:12 gemaakt van een tissuedoos

I made a quirky cabinet for the witch’s house out of an empty tissue box

Ik heb van een lege tissuedoos een gekke kast gemaakt voor het heksenhuis

Removed the top and cut it down to a height of 18 cm

Bovenkant verwijderd en op 18 cm hoogte afgeknipt

Then I trimmed the sides down by 3 cm

Daarna de zijkanten op 3 cm afgeknipt

Made shelves from the cut-off cardboard and glued them inside the box

Van het afgeknipte karton planken gemaakt en in de doos gelijmd

Then I painted the entire cabinet black, including the back, to prevent warping

I glued all the books and other items firmly in place inside the cabinet

Daarna de kast in zijn geheel zwart geschilderd

Ook aan de achterkant om krom trekken te voorkomen

Alles boekjes enz. vast gelijmd in de kast

Finished the edges with gray paint to make the shape of the shelves stand out better, 

and glued some ivy onto the cabinet

De randjes afgewerkt met grijze verf zodat je beter het model van de 

 

planken ziet en nog wat klimop op de kast gelijmd

Pruned the garden and used a few suitable branches to make 

a ladder for the witch’s house

Cut the twigs to size and attached them with wood glue

De tuin gesnoeid en van een paar geschikte takken een ladder voor het heksenhuis gemaakt

Made books for the witch’s house using a quick method

Cut a strip from a magazine or catalog

Boeken voor het heksenhuis gemaakt op een snelle manier

Snijd een reep van een tijdschrift of magazine af

Coat one side with glue and let it dry thoroughly

Smeer 1 zijkant in met lijm en laat dit goed drogen

I printed my book covers 2 cm wide and cut a 2 cm strip 

from the magazine accordingly

Ik heb mijn boekomslagen op 2 cm breed uitgeprint en

 

dus een reep van 2 cm van het tijdschrift afgesneden

Then cut it to the correct length

Dan op de juiste lengte afgesneden

Glued the book cover on and finished the 

little book with Ecoline ink for an aged look

Boekomslag erop gelijmd en het boekje afgewerkt

 

met ecoline voor het oude uiterlijk

Mini witch’s house as a cat house in the witch’s house, scale 1:12 / Mini heksenhuisje als kattenhok in het heksenhuis schaal 1:12

Bought a tiny witch’s house for 25 cents at the thrift store 

and turned it into the witch’s cat’s little home

Een mini heksenhuisje voor 25 cent in de kringloopwinkel gekocht

 

en daar het verblijf voor de kat van de heks van gemaakt

"Zomling" in a birdcage, scale 1:12 / "Zomling" in een vogelkooi schaal 1:12

I put a “Zomling” (the witch’s pet) in a birdcage

I still had a white birdcage in my box of odds and ends

Ik heb een "Zomling"  (huisdier van de heks) in een vogelkooi gemaakt

Ik had nog een witte vogelkooi in mijn doos met rommeltjes

Bent one of the cage’s legs—after all, things shouldn’t 

look too neat in the witch’s house

Painted it purple and black, and cut the cage open

Glued the Zomling inside, though it took quite a bit of 

creative construction to let it dry properly

For the finishing touch, I glued on the ivy I bought at the fair from Art of Mini

I painted a mahogany clock purple and darkened the edges with black

I removed the original clock face and replaced it with one featuring a cat, 

then added a little window with a mouse on the clock

I made a whole collection of signs for the exterior and interior walls

of the witch’s house I glued the clock onto a button

I also made labels for little bottles and two small “Trompe L’Oeil” cabinets,

trick-of-the-eye illusions

Ik heb een hele verzameling bordjes gemaakt voor de

 

buiten- en binnenmuren van het heksenhuis

De klok heb ik in een knoop geplakt

Verder nog etiketten gemaakt voor flesjes en 2 kleine kastjes

 

"Trompe L`Oeil" oftewel gezichtsbedrog

From the mushrooms I received earlier this week, I made “magic mushrooms.”

I coated them with glue and sprinkled them with golden glitter

The caps were painted black and also sprinkled with glitter

I filled the caps with air-dry clay and placed the mushrooms into them

Van de paddenstoelen die ik van de week heb gekregen

 

heb ik "tover paddenstoelen" gemaakt

Ingesmeerd met lijm en bestrooid met gouden glittertjes

Dop zwart geschilderd en ook besprenkelt met de glittertjes

Dop gevuld met zelf hardende klei en hier de paddenstoelen ingezet
