This cheerful little pillow with three hyacinths is
embroidered with silk ribbon and will be placed
on the chair in the dollhouse library
I bought a fireplace tool set for the open hearth in
the dollhouse library so that the fireplace can be
properly cleaned after the wood has burned
The gentleman of the dollhouse has received a desk chair
on wheels so he can easily sit at his desk in the library
It is a replica of the “Charles Dickens writing chair”
and is available for purchase at The Dolls House Emporium
I now have a new fireplace for the library, because
the previous one was moved to the salon
I find this fireplace very cozy, and it looks lovely next to the bookshelves
This lamp will hang above the chess table in the library,
and the other lamp is for the desk
I’m very happy with this little staircase for the dollhouse library
The residents can now easily reach the books on the top shelf
I bought a large ornament, 17 cm wide,
for the library ceiling and created a “ceiling painting” on it
Ceiling painting is a very old art form: in Egyptian tombs,
ceilings were already decorated with gods and stars
In the Middle Ages, wooden ceilings in churches were often painted
During the Renaissance and Baroque periods in Italy,
many ceilings in the palaces of wealthy people were also painted,
often depicting the blue sky with clouds
Sometimes columns in a room are continued onto the
ceiling to create the illusion of unlimited height
It is also sometimes suggested that a dome exists above the ceiling
The largest ceiling paintings ever are probably those
Michelangelo created in the Sistine Chapel in Rome
From now on, chess can be played in the
dollhouse library on this beautiful chess table
I marbled the mantelpiece for the dollhouse library
and painted the decorations gold
Then I varnished it twice with water-based gloss varnish
I made the wall behind the mantelpiece from thick
cardboard and covered it with brick-patterned paper
I rubbed the back wall with ash to create
the black “soot” that forms when wood burns
I copied the fireplace plate from Google,
reduced its size, cut it out, and glued it onto cardboard
Now I still need to make a surround in
which the mantelpiece will fit
The gentleman of the house has finally updated
the dollhouse administration again
Not exactly his favorite activity…
This beautiful medieval book is a treasured
family heirloom, carefully kept in the dollhouse library
I bought a little bar cabinet from
Bespaq for the dollhouse library
The wine cooler with ice cubes and a bottle of
champagne fits on top, and all the other necessities
for a drink fit inside the cabinet
During the spring cleaning, the maid found old family documents
From now on, they will be carefully kept in the
library to prevent them from getting lost

The furnishings are now complete,
but the construction work is not finished yet
The back wall still needs wallpaper, a mantelpiece has
to be made for the fireplace, electrical wiring installed,
and the ceiling fitted with beams
I bought a white miniature cyclamen for my dollhouse
at “Hanneke’s Flower and Plant Shop”
I used to think cyclamens were an old-fashioned plant,
but nowadays I find them quite pretty
It now proudly sits on the wine table in the library
The gentleman of the dollhouse is wearing his finest suit
and has a gold pocket watch in his vest pocket
He is sitting at his desk in the dollhouse library
to finish the year’s final paperwork
I already had a pencil sharpener for the dollhouse,
but no colored pencils
Now I’ve made a pot of colored pencils
to place on the desk in the library
You will need colored felt-tip pens of your choice,
wire cutters, cocktail sticks, and a pretty long bead
Glue a base under the bead
Trim the tips of the cocktail sticks
and sand the bottom
Color the tip, leave a small section of bare wood,
and then continue coloring below that
Place them in the bead, and you have a pot full of colored pencils
For the library, I found a cozy little rug whose
color matches the armchairs nicely
