Made Sam and Julia mouse doors for my grandsons / Muizendeurtjes van Sam en Julia voor mijn kleinzoons gemaakt

A little something different in between working on the witch’s house

Last Friday, I saw that The Mouse Mansion had started selling the little mouse doors

Even wat anders tussen het heksenhuis door

Afgelopen vrijdag zag ik dat het Muizenhuis was gestart met de verkoop van de muizendeurtjes

My grandson thought they were absolutely wonderful when he saw them

 in the shop and knocked on them to see if the mice were home

Mijn kleinzoon vond die helemaal geweldig toen hij die in de winkel zag

 

 en klopte erop om te kijken of de muizen thuis waren

I immediately ordered a door for each of my grandsons, 

and they arrived the very next day

besteld en de volgende dag waren ze er al

Stickers were included, but I thought it would be nicer to add 

the correct house numbers and nameplates to the doors

Er zaten stickertjes bij maar ik vond het leuker om de juiste

 

huisnummers en naambordjes op de deur te plakken

So I made those myself

Dus die heb ik zelf gemaakt

Sanded everything and coated it with gesso

Alles geschuurd en in de Gesso gezet

After that, I painted them in the right colors and finished with varnish

Daarna in de juiste kleuren geschilderd en afgelakt

I also added a little background behind the doors.

That way, it stays a mystery where the 🐭🐭🐭 are 😜

Ik heb ook een achtergrondje achter de deuren geplakt

Dan blijft het een mysterie waar de 🐭🐭🐭 zijn 😜

On the inside of the door, I hung a little warning sign for the mice...

Aan de binnenkant van de deur heb ik een waarschuwing

 

gehangen voor de muisjes...

I visited The Mouse Mansion shop of Sam and Julia in the Jordaan, Amsterdam / De Muizenwinkel van Sam en Julia bezocht in de Jordaan, Amsterdam

After visiting The Mouse Mansion in the public library,

we went to the shop and workshop located right 

in the heart of the Jordaan in Amsterdam

Na het bezoek aan het Muizenhuis in de openbare bibliotheek

 

zijn we naar de winkel en werkplaats midden

 

in de Jordaan in Amsterdam gegaan

Here, you can see sets that were specially created for the books, 

such as the circus, the theater, the harbor, and the fair

You can also watch how The Mouse Mansion is made 

and ask questions to the creators

Of course, you can also buy books and other Mouse Mansion goodies there

Hier staan decors tentoongesteld die speciaal gemaakt

 

zijn voor de boeken zoals het circus, het theater,

 

de haven en de kermis

Ook kun je hier zien hoe het Muizenhuis gemaakt wordt

 

en vragen stellen aan de makers

Uiteraard kun je er ook boeken aanschaffen

 

en andere Muizenhuisspulletjes

We really enjoyed seeing all the miniatures here as well,

and we bought the last two books for our grandson
