My 61 year old dollhouse furniture from Petite Princess / Mijn 61 jaar oude poppenhuismeubeltjes Petite Princess

When I was a child, I received several dollhouse

pieces from the brand Petite Princess in 1964

I loved them, and fortunately, I still have them

I’ve even kept the original boxes.

These pieces are a bit small (about 1:16 scale instead of the usual 1:12)

for a standard dollhouse

My daughter also played with them, and unfortunately, 

some pieces got broken

The furniture that isn’t damaged now sits in my 

display cabinet, so I can enjoy them every day

van het merk Petite Princess gekregen in 1964

Ik vond ze prachtig en ik heb ze gelukkig nog steeds

Zelfs de doosjes heb ik er nog van bewaard

Deze meubels zijn te klein (verhouding ongeveer 1:16 i.p.v. gebruikelijke 1:12) 

 

voor een gewoon poppenhuis

Mijn dochter heeft er ook nog mee gespeeld en 

 

helaas zijn er meubeltjes stuk gegaan

De meubeltjes die niet beschadigd zijn staan nu in mijn vitrinekast

Zo kan ik er iedere dag van genieten

Ideal’s Petite Princess Fantasy furniture for the dollhouse

was first featured in the Sears Christmas Wish Book in 1964

They offered the original set with thirty key pieces, 

along with the original Fantasy family (father, mother, sister, and brother) 

and their Fantasy rooms (available in pink, blue, and yellow)

Some of these pieces reappeared in the 1966, 1967, 1968, 

and 1969 Sears Christmas Wish Books

The pieces included a vanity and chair, bed, table and lamp,

piano and sofa, cabinet, guest chairs, occasional chair,

sofa, table, and lamp

waren voor het eerst te zien in de 

 

Sears Christmas Wish Boek in 1964

Zij boden de oorspronkelijke doos aan met 

 

dertig belangrijkste stukken, alsmede het originele Fantasy gezin 

 

(vader, moeder, zus en broer) en hun kamers Fantasy

 

 (verkrijgbaar in roze, blauw en geel)

Sommige van deze stukken kwamen terug in 

 

1966, 1967, 1968, en 1969 Sears Christmas Wish Books

Deze stukken omvatten de kaptafel en stoel, bed, tafel en lamp, 

 

piano en bank, kabinet, gasten stoelen, incidentele stoel , 

 

bank, tafel en lamp

Also in 1968 and 1969, Sears sold thirteen pieces from 

the original collection in a Colonial-style dollhouse with a red roof

Included in these houses were the vanity and chair, bed, 

table with lamp, chairs, sofa, grand piano, side table set, 

and a new bathroom set with a bathtub and towel rack

The original Fantasy family did not return and 

was replaced by a different family

Petite Princess vintage miniatures were produced in ¾ inch scale, 

and no other miniatures were made in this scale, 

which adds to the unique character of the product

The manufacturers of this beautiful furniture line describe  

Petite Princess furniture as “The fulfillment of every girl’s dream.”

The furniture is beautifully detailed, handcrafted, and designed

to provide many hours of imaginative play

Petite Princess dollhouse furniture is also wonderful to collect

There is a Japanese brand that has copied them, 

but those are not nearly as beautiful

miniaturen vervaardigd in deze schaal

Dit draagt bij aan het unieke karakter van dit product

De meubels zijn prachtig gedetailleerd

Het zijn met de hand vervaardigde meubels en accessoires

 

om vele uren fantasievol te spelen

mooi om te verzamelen

Er bestaat ook een Japans merk die ze heeft

 

nagemaakt maar die zijn lang zo mooi niet

I made a shabby chic dressing table during a workshop in Gouda

Half of it was finished by the end of the day, and I completed the rest at home

 The original example was silver, but I painted mine in antique gold 

for a warmer, more classic look

With the added accessories, it has become a real eye-catcher 

and perfectly fitting for a romantic bedroom from days gone by

De helft was klaar aan het einde van de dag en het overige heb ik thuis afgemaakt

Het voorbeeld was zilverkleurig, maar ik heb alles oud goud geschilderd

voor een warmere, klassieke uitstraling

helemaal in de stijl van een romantische slaapkamer uit vervlogen tijden

the text on the cover was perfect for her

At least it’s finished on time now, and it fits 

beautifully with my Christmas stall in a lantern

 

Hij is nu in ieder geval op tijd klaar en past

mooi bij mijn kerstkraam in een lantaarn

I painted it in old English green and antique gold

groen en oud goud
