I covered the walls of the shop with little bricks

De muren van de winkel heb ik met steentjes beplakt

I downloaded the bricks and resized them to fit

De steentjes heb ik gedownload en op maat gemaakt

Made an “enamel” street name sign, glued it onto cardboard, added brown edges

 to make it look rusty, and finished it with a coat of varnish

"Emaille" bordje met de straatnaam gemaakt, op karton geplakt,

bruine randjes gegeven alsof het roest en afgelakt

My grandparents’ shop opened in 1929, so I looked up 

old advertisements and pasted them on the wall

De winkel  van mijn oma en opa opende in 1929 en daarom heb

ik oude reclame opgezocht en op de muur geplakt

I had to paint the roof, the back wall, and the inside of the shop 

five times before it finally looked right

Ik heb het dak, de achtermuur en de binnenkant van de winkel

Fortunately, I have a tiny paint roller that works really well
